Valle de Guadalupe has become one of the most important tourist destinations in Baja California and Mexico, attracting more than 750 thousand domestic and foreign visitors annually, who seek to enjoy the regional gastronomy and wine. If you are also thinking of visiting it, but don't have many days available to do so, in this article we tell you what to do one day in Valle de Guadalupe. Take note, these are the essentials to make the most of your quick getaway.
Activities to do one day in Valle de Guadalupe
Breakfast at Doña Esthela's Kitchen
Start your day with a tasty breakfast in a cozy place. This small place has become one of the most popular in the region after being recognized by the London magazine FoodHub for serving the Best Breakfast in the world in 2015. Of course, to come here you will have to get up early, as the more the morning progresses, the more people come for breakfast.
Within the menu of Doña Estela's kitchen you will find dishes such as: machaca with egg -a dish that won the best breakfast-, enchiladas, chilaquiles, gorditas stuffed with spinach, vegetable omelettes, hot cakes, empanadas, tatemado lamb, birria, among many other delicacies that will take you to enjoy the traditional taste of home cooking.
Tour the Wine Route
While it is true that one day will not be enough to visit all the wineries that make up the Wine Route, at least we recommend visiting the main ones such as L.A. Cetto, Baron Balché and Bodegas F. Rubio, just to mention a few. There are many agencies that offer private tours with a duration of six to nine hours -depending on the tour chosen- through the main wineries in the area. It should be noted that since this is an activity that requires many hours, most companies include breakfast and lunch in their packages, in addition to the tour of the vineyards and wine tastings in the wineries visited.
In case you want to make this tour on your own, you can choose to rent a car.

Visit the Vine and Wine Museum
If you come to the Valley, a visit to the Vine and Wine Museum is a must on your itinerary. Located in the heart of Valle de Guadalupe, this place brings together the history of the wine-growing area in the north of the country, as well as the history of the first wineries and a large number of items related to wine production. Be sure to admire its incredible architecture, you will be amazed! The doors of the museum are open from Tuesday to Sunday.

Dinner at Deckman's at the Mogor
Nothing better than ending your day in Valle de Guadalupe tasting the gastronomic essence of this Mexican destination. Chef Drew Deckman offers diners a menu that blends traditional northern Baja California dishes, southern U.S. barbecue and a touch of European inspiration. Located inside the Mogor winery, this restaurant offers delicious options for all palates.
Recommendations for your stay in the land of wine
- Wear comfortable clothes, keep in mind that temperatures in Valle de Guadalupe will be different from the rest of the locality.
- You can visit all year round, there will always be things to do depending on the time of the year, but we recommend you to consider the months of July and August, months where the famous harvest festivities take place with different celebrations in each of the wineries in the area.
- Consider that each visit can take between one and two hours, depending on the activities you want to do in the wineries or restaurants.
And remember, even if your visit is short, be sure to make the most of your trip.
